Maundy Thursday
Service and Agape Meal
Thursday, April 2nd, 6:00 pm
Emmanuel Episcopal
285 Lyons Plain Rd, Weston
Emmanuel and Christ Church parishes will join together to observe Maundy Thursday at Emmanuel’s Parish Hall. We will share in a simple Holy Communion service with the traditional foot washing, followed by an Agape Meal.
The Agape Meal is a modest and reflective sharing of food—typically meatless in keeping with the solemn character of the day. A vegan soup will be provided, and parishioners are invited to bring bread, dried fruit, or cheese to share.
Following the meal, all who wish to participate in the Stripping of the Altar are welcome to do so. Those who take part in the entire evening, including the stripping of the altar, can expect the service to conclude around 7:30 p.m.
